In 2 Corinthians 8, Paul explains how we should give: joyfully responding to God's grace and trusting in Him; proportionately (to our income); sacrificially; willingly; unselfishly; genuinely; humbly; fulfilling any pledges we have made...and so on. This is a high calling, and we can only do this as we follow the example of our Lord. Paul writes, "For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though he was rich, yet for your sake he became poor, so that you by his poverty might become rich. And in this matter I give my judgment: this benefits you..."
